Listen to MP3 Player through your car stereo

In order to give the best solution, we need to know a little more about the CD player in the car. I’ll just give the basics of all of the ways this can be done….

If your vehicle’s factory deck has a “Aux in” or “CD Changer in” on the back, you can use those. If it does have one of those inputs on the back, you will need a special adapter that takes the CD Changer input plug and turns it into female RCA plugs (the red/white plugs on all audio equip.). Then, you can get another adapter that takes the headphone jack on your MP3 player (I have a Zen Xtra) and turns it into male RCA plugs. Just plug the RCA’s into each other, set the deck to Aux/CD Changer and you’re done. If you don’t have CD Changer/Aux inputs on your deck, then go to the next paragraph.

The second way would be to get one of the FM Transmitters ( i reccomend: Monster Cable iCarPlay Plus Wireless FM Transmitter/Charger for iPod ). They are about $20 (US) and made by a few companies-Belkin is one of the larger ones. You plug the transmitter into your MP3 player, and then it transmits whatever music you want to listen to on a specific radio frequency. All you do is tune your radio to whatever frequency the transmitter is set to broadcast at. This can be useful because it allows you to take your MP3 player and use it in just about any car-not just your own.
