The device is easy to use and intuitive and it’s using a improved portable media center operating system. The PC-only device is also PlaysForSure-certified by Microsoft, which means that it will operate with any similarly designated management software or download service, such as Napster, Rhapsody, and Wal-Mart Music Downloads. Users can also subscribe to movies or TV shows via MTV/Microsoft’s Urge, TiVo to Go, Starz Vongo, and a host of other sites. And because the MES60VK is automatically recognized by Windows Media Player 10, you won’t need to install drivers of any kind.
I had never used Media Player for anything but music before (used it to sync with my -now old- Dell DJ 20 (2nd Gen)), but it was nice to see that it would take my files (video and tv) and automatically convert them before transfering/syncing them to my portable. I love the portable’s MCE style, and it’s great to use in combination with a MCE computer, though I think anyone with even just windows XP would find it pleasant to use (very easy, as you can’t go wrong with “My tv”, “My music” etc) even without ever having seen the menu system before.
